Big Bag or bulk bag fillers
What are "Big Bags" or bulk bags?
These are basically big bags with handles; known as flexible intermediate bulk containers or FIBCs. These industrial bags or bulk bags are used to store and transport dry products such as onions, potatoes, sand, fertilizers and plastic granulate.

To move them, a forklift truck is needed.
These sacks are seen more and more frequently in food distribution. They are ideal for transporting onions, and even storing potatoes (but not onions) thanks to their good ventilation. They are reusable and cheap (costing only a couple of dollars).
These bulk bags are made out of polyethylene or thickly woven uncoated polypropylene, and normally measure around 110cm in diameter and 100 to 200cm in height. They are normally able to hold 1,000kg or 2,000lbs, but larger bags can hold even more. A bulk bag capable of storing and transporting a tonne of material only weighs 7.5lbs.

Please note that storage of onions in bulk bags is not recommended, because it is impossible to ventilate them properly in the bag.
Eqraft manufactures two models within this type of machine:
1. The BB1 with one filling position, where full bags have to be replaced with empty ones before filling can continue.
2. The BB2 for continuous filling. This machine has two positions, so that while one Big Bag is being filled, an already full Big Bag is being replaced with a new empty one.
Important factors for this kind of machine include the filling speed, product fall protection and ease of use.
These machines can be supplied with an incorporated weigher, making the filler completely automatic.
There are two models
1. The BBI with one filling position, where full bags have to be replaced with empty ones before filling can continue.
2. The BB2 for continuous filling. This machine has two positions, so that a full Big Bag is replaced with an empty one, whilst another Big Bag is being filled.
