When is a box tipper necessary?
When you are thinking about building a storage facility for onions, potatoes or carrots, using one of the following systems:
Box tippers are used when you need to move produce from a storage facility to a handling line.
The function of these machines is to move a regular flow of one to two tonnes of produce from a box onto a handling line, so that it works without stopping, and without damaging the onions, potatoes, carrots or any other produce.
These machines come with a hydraulic motor to slowly tip the box, dosing the produce onto a conveyor belt, or filling a chute which then drops the produce onto the conveyor belt.
In facilities where potatoes, onions or similar produce are stored in boxes, box tippers are a must-have. Just imagine tipping the boxes seen in this photo to the right, considering that the boxes weigh between 1,200 and 2,000 kg, depending on the produce inside.

Once you have a grading machine and one single line for weighing and packing and, therefore the produce which is not directly weighed and packed must be stored temporarily in boxes, to be tipped onto the line at a later time.
In all of these situations, a box tipper is essential for your line.
