All 10 ''weighing heads'' have to be filled, more or less, equally. This is the reason the in-feed of this equipment has to be wide.

The reason to use small conveyor belts to feed the weigher ''heads'', is that vibrating metal chutes collect dirt creating rough patches, which will grow till they start damaging the product, while smooth conveyor belts don't collect dirt, they stay smooth and clean. This may sound over doing it, but don't forget this is expensive equipment with capacities of over 30.000 kg per hour.
